I have known Fred Douglas as the consummate property professional for over 25yrs. I had the pleasure of first meeting Jeanette in Dubai 2009 via a mutual Westfield colleague and by coincidence both Jeanette and I have a connection via Tiffany. The Tiffany store in the luxury section of Dubai Mall is an amazing corner site and was leased by Jeanette to Tiffany ( the then Group VP Asia, Darren Chen) and its local UAE partner in 2005. The store location is positioned at Main entry of the world renowned Dubai Mall and our recent flagship renovation takes full advantage of this position. Jeanette’s understanding of luxury retail brands and business allows her to confidently position/place them in the most relevant and best suited locations. I found Jeanette to be extremely professional and knowledgeable of the relevant retail brands, she provides a holistic view to retail business requirements.

Jeanette was part of the team that established the Dubai Mall store mix , making it probably the best in the world. She understands luxury retailing and brand requirements. Very clear in her communication and getting results.

I had the pleasure of working with Jeanette at Nakheel Retail in Dubai. Very quickly I found Jeanette an extremely valuable resource with her knowledge on retail and retailers in the market excellent. Whilst Jeanette’s career in the shopping centre industry has spanned over two decades she remains one of the most passionate & resourceful people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. We represent Ted Baker, Bebe, BCBG, Vince Camuto & The Kooples in fashion; Reebok, Adidas, Quiksilver, Roxy, Billabong, DC in sport & lifestyle; as well as our own Stadium & Golf House concepts to name a few. Fred’s key positions in two of the biggest retail developers in the Middle East says a lot about his skills & experience. I have worked with Fred for well over a decade, initially on Emaar’s The Dubai Mall. Those were big days in retail development in this region or anywhere on the planet, to be fair. In my view, execution certainly at this high standard, would not have been possible without Fred. Brilliant guy to work with & an outstanding legacy as a result. I did think we were all done especially at such level, size & scale, but thanks to Fred, we did it again: Aldar’s World Trade Centre Mall in the heart of Abu Dhabi & the incredible Yas Island Mall, meters from the F1 track. Again, without Fred & that Dubai Mall experience, not sure if we would have achieved this standard. Been a pleasure, fun & rewarding working with Fred. Hard work as well.
